JWICS Systems/Domain Administrator.

 

Responsible for the commands JWICS system from certification and accreditation documentation and testing to network configuration, desk-side support and IA functions.  I am a one man shop supporting a small JWICS domain comprised of 40 clients, 6 servers, and 300 end users spread across 7 different sites.  Since my start here I have been able to automate security log collection, establish TS-VoIP services, and establish the first TS/SCI VTC suite for the command.  I am also responsible for maintaining Taclane Encryption devices and associated cisco switches.

 

Daily operations;

- Installed and configured Hard disk storage solution. Replacing the need for tape backups

- configured all taclanes for remote control and re-key via GEMX software.

Accomplishments:  During my assignment with MARCENT I was able to halt the decommissioning of their Top Secret network by quickly deploying a Software baseline that mitigated multiple critical software vulnerabilities.  Soon after my arrival I began the process of socializing various ideas for the future of the customer’s network connectivity, disaster recovery posture, and integration with the wider IC community.  The end result was that Marine Corp Central Command became the first Subordinate Centcom command to complete a full migration to the DoDIIS Domain.  This enabled my customer to take advantage of true theater-wide networking and collaboration tools.  The disaster recovery plan on at this site was non existent but I was able to acquire a suitable backup solution by leveraging my reputation and inter-command contacts.
